One thing that is great about knitting is that it can take dead time and change it into things. It can change into socks, blankets or weird toys, it can make waiting around a thing to look forward to (and make you look saint like with patience). My current dead time knitting is a pair of Honeycomb socks (I think it might be a Barbara Walker stitch directory on a basic sock recipe) out of Noro. These are socks that shouldn’t exist. These are socks that defy time as, technically, the time they are made in doesnt exist. This is time lost on trains, the odd 10 minutes of lunch or (like now) waiting for a parent’s evening. Maybe I should celebrate this time travel and make my next pair in TARDIS blue.
